Thank you for the web site link. The place looks like a fine old time haberdashery which I really enjoy. I'll have to come out to Ohio and visit some time to see you and the shop in person. I have only been to Ohio by way of transfer flights in Cleveland and Cincinnati from what I have seen in the air and at the airport Ohio seems really nice.

Best Regards,

I actually bring my bowl and brush. Put the bowl in a ziploc and toss it in the bag

I'm with Trilby and the others on this one. If I shave with a brush and cream at home, i want the comfort on the road.

I differ on one point though. I had a tube of Harris cream explode in my dop-kit and I do not relish a repeat performance. Actually, it did not explode so much as the metal tubing, much fatigued from wear, burst a seam. I have looked for plastic tubes but have not had luck and take a "tub" of the cream with me. The large (8 oz +/-) tubs that come from Harris and Trumpers are too large and I decant a couple of fingerfulls into a small nivea container about the size of a stack of silver dollars. When I'm in London I always visit the shops to see if they have a small travel pot with the makers mark upon it but have never found one that suits.

Zounds! I'll be sure to keep mine in a ziplock bag when I travel from now on.

My suitcase has a plasticized zipper compartment and I simply place my brush, screw top bowl of shave cream (either Frasers -- a true Canadian original -- or Taylors), razor, and a small bottle of 4711 in there. I find having my real shaving gear with me when I travel provides a feeling of normalcy when staying in a hotel room.
