Since we all spent 1/3 of our lives in bed, I gathered it might be worth to invest in a quality bed.

I have recently came across Hästens of Sweden and Savoir Beds of London, both bespoke, hand made with multiple layers of pure Egyptian cottons, horse hair and springs. Both very pricey of course.

I would be most interested to hear whether any fellow members has any thoughts as to what is their ultimate mattress.

Thanks,

Watson

Hastens has a shop here in Culver City, California. Fine product, but at $20,000 for a California King (in their premium line...not their most expensive one)...I passed

I have a Hasten bed - though not from their top line

Cannot recommend it highly enough - fantastic quality, and whilst it is now seven years old, it is as good as when I bought it

My wife and I typically miss it greatly after a few days away, even in the best hotels

We, too have a Hastens bed. Our local store has an arrangement with the Peninsula, as they have a few rooms with Hastens beds. After spending a night on one, we purchased our own and have never regretted the expenditure.

Thanks a lot! So no one owns a Savoir Bed? Would anyone recommend any other brand?

Its an old saying you know, the shoes and the mattress have to be good, as if you're not in one you're in the other. Nearone where I'm based in Co. Galway, in Ireland there's a wholly natural mattress maker http://www.core-homestore.ie/ They're very comfortable and I plan to invest in one next year. As they make them themselves they can make any size you want, they're also very reasonable compared to the prices quoted above.
