Help one's tailor source good facings

This is my first post, so pardon me if I picked the wrong forum and lack brevity. I thought I'd ask if anyone knows a good source or sources for quality facings/canvas. My California tailor complained that he is having trouble finding good stuff from his usual places he tries in England, Italy, and Japan. He laments that sources are drying up on that and instead are trying to sell him the stuff used in fusing, perish the thought, apparently market forces at work. He cut his teeth at Poole as a lad, so his preference tends toward that kind of middle of the road shape. While apparently not having problems for the heavier cloths men like me buy, for his customers that like the soft supers he needs something of substance to give and keep shape, to mold as he says. Knowing he must survive in the market he finds himself, I created my own parade of horribles that if he can't make suits for and keep his supers customers happy, how will me meet payroll making suits for his less numerous clients who like cloth of substance?

If he is a Poole alum, then I suppose that he is already familiar with Richard James Weldon and was not pleased with their assortment. That's not a good thing.
