Should you unbutton your coat when sitting?

And if you keep your coat buttoned, what should it look like?

This looks pretty good to me; it's hard to beat the Neapolitans for stylish ease:

One of the reasons that I like one button SB coats is that they look good buttoned when sitting. Your taste is similar to mine so I would recommend that you button your coats too.

When I feel at ease, I always unbutton my coats when I sit (SB ones). When I feel uncomfortable in a place, for one reason or another, I tend to keep (or rather forget) the coat buttoned even when I sit. That's not really something I do consciously - it is more of a "post factum" observation. The buttoned coat wen sitting, to me, is like a materialization of a psychological barrier.

Ambrosi senior looks so comfortable, a good example of the man wearing the clothes.

I like all of the excess cloth that he has in the waist. He can sit without pulling at the waist. I like this alot.

I wonder if Solito makes for him?

I don't think that I can button most of my jackets at this point, at least sitting. I guess that if one wears DBs alot, the need to keep them buttoned when sitting would suggest tailoring in excess cloth in the waist....?
