I'm looking to get a suit made but I'm undecided about the material. Would flannel be to hot for a city that can get up to the 70's F even in winter? For what temperatures would flannel be appropriate?
Also,I would be going MTM so can anyone recomend a good place in the US?
I'm a student so money is an issue. Thank You

Flannel is an autumn - winter - spring cloth that works well up to about 70 deg. F. It is not summer suiting. If autumn and spring are regularly warmer than 70 where you live, then it is winter-only. Which is not a bad thing - don't try to find an "all year round" cloth. Just add some fresco or mohair or linen or what you like for summer, when your flannels will rest. You need to alternate suits anyway.
However, if money is an issue and your suit will be worn intensively, be warned that woollen flannel is a more delicate cloth that bags and gets worn out more easily than worsted (or worsted flannel).
