A question about suits etc. from a beginner. I've seen pictures of a certain cut/jacket style. Very broad-shouldered and single-breasted. The collar is very stiff (i.e., one can look up and the collar does not move) and the knot on the tie is quite thick--so thick that if the tie loosens, the part of the tie under the collar likely will not show. Can't describe it too well as you can see, but here are some pictures. How do you describe it? The suit cut or style, the collar, the tie knot. Are the individuals pictured (famous people I use as examples) just naturally broad-shouldered (are the suits a reflection of their natural builds)? How does one find a suit like this--available only through tailors? Sorry I can't be more specific, but assistance is appreciated. This is just the general style I like.

Your selection of pictures shows several different styles of suits: some are softer, others are more structured. Some have more extended shoulders than others. The shirts are also different. The only common trait I see is the single breasted cut.
Are you in search of a new suit, or a style of dress? What is your build? We will gladly assist you, but we need some more input...

Thanks so much. The question was indeed too open-ended, so let me start again and progress little by little.
