Have you ever abandoned a suit at the tailors because it just wasn't working out?

Forfeited your deposit? Left the suit at the tailors? Walked away?

Under what circumstances would you consider this and how would you manage your exit and subsequent fall out?

I did that once with Flusser. To be fair to both parties, we sort of tried to hook up after the first fitting. But he was moving from Saks, I wasn't often in NYC, and it really didn't seem worth the hassle given how events were taking shape. I did make a final effort at calling his new address, but by that time it had been lost in the move or otherwise deaccessioned.

There is a peer who once shouted at his cutter, with dissatisfaction, declaiming: 'I can go anywhere!!' The cutter replied, opening the door, 'well, XYZ [names omitted], just go!' and the customer apologized - but then he was one of the best cutters around until his retirement.

Why throw good money after bad?

It happens some times; if the suit is bad, cut your loses; foreit your deposit and suit to the tailor to do with what he will.

You're both losers but you're not under an obligation to take receipt of a badly done suit and pay full price for it.
