Bow tie and wing tip collar
The bows belong in front. But the wings of the collar oughtn't be so long nor the bows of the bowtie so large that that's really an issue.

I believe that some wing collars, particularly taller detached collars, are made to sit with the wings above the tie. I think this would be a minority practice, though.

When I was much younger, I had a teacher-- an old Parisian with a German name-- who wore a modified sort of bowtie with a turn-down collar. It looked as though he had just stuffed the whole tie behind the collar leaves, although in fact it was just two layers of black silk fastened with a snap.
Is there a name for this contraption (which seems to have faded from the scene)?
