Where can I find fixed (non-adjustable) formal bow ties? I cannot find them in Iowa, but I never suspected I did. I am currently looking for both a white pique one and a silk black one.

Budd in London (Burlington Arcade) is a reliable source.

I gather that Sam Hober might be getting into that game. But no hard news yet.

I second Budd. Always a good option when it comes to formal wear.

Also, you can try Turnbull & Asser. I bought both ties described in your message from T&A, and I've been satisfied with what I received.

Good luck.

Both black silk and white marcella can be bought at Gieves and Hawkes. White marcella is £20.

I would likewise recommend Budd, but, for what it's worth, they are to be found in the Piccadilly Arcade, not the Burlington Arcade...

New & Lingwood, 53, Jermyn Street, or on their web site(http://www.newandlingwood.com/). £ 30, including VAT, I think.

Budd is best. They used to do a lustrous cotton and silk mix marcella.
