Reducing a Sleeve Width at the Wrist

Can one reduce the sleeve width at the wrist?
I have a sportscoat coat which fits well except that the sleeves are too wide at the wrist.
A further complication: sleeve buttonholes were cut.
Can it be reduced satisfactorily?
Thanks.

Hello!
There are 3 ways to do it.
The easiest one is to change the width at the inner seam of the sleeve, but it might corrupt the shape a bit!
The better, but more difficult way is to do it on the outer, longer seam, where the buttons are, just taking the width away from the undersleeve, recreating a new facing. It does not effect the buttonholes!
Best would be to do both to preserve the shape of the sleeve. Just ask the tailor, who is going to do the alteration about the price. Each version will take more and more time!
