DB Button Sizes

I've noticed some DBs have larger buttons than is common for SBs. My tailor uses the same. Is there a general rule or custom here?

A&S does the smaller size. As far as I know, that is something of an exception.

IIRC, many tailors typically use 24-line buttons for sleeves, and 30-line for coat fronts. A&S indeed do use the smaller ones for the coat fronts.
