Shawl Lapel

In members opinion, does a shawl lapel on a dinner jacket work best on individuals with a certain body type? Narrow shoulders, broad shoulders, etc.?

Going back a few years, a shawl DJ would have looked smashing on the young Frank Sinatra, less good on the older version.

OK on JFK, although sometimes too relaxed for a man of his "vigah."

The shawl should probably be avoided by the heavier guy, or a guy with a soft, round face. Otherwise, I think it can look good on anyone.
