difference between odd jacket and suit jacket length

Is there a consecrated difference between odd jacket and suit jacket length?

Often odd jackets, especially those with country roots, are cut a bit longer. This helps when heavier shirts and/or sweaters are worn underneath, "lifting" the jacket a bit.

Personally, I like my odd jackets to be cut a bit shorter, if at all.
