What's a chowhound?
Isn't that a non-comm soldier who is so hungry and weary that he eats anything put in front of him? E.g., chipped beef on toast.

What exactly is a Holmesian?

A Holmesian is a devotee of the Sherlock Holmes stories.
On the "chowhound" issue, is a "chowhound" a lover of fine dining? E.g., the new Le Cirque. Or is a "chowhound" a lover of copious amounts of food? E.g., supersized portions at Mickey D's.

Thank you, I thought as much but wasn't sure.
In that case I'd say yes to Holmesian, no to
Opera buff and possibly to Chowhound.
