I have been offered several „vintage“ Dormeuil Towntex fabrics. Are they any good? Would you consider them anywhere near „good old vintage quality“...?

True vintage Dormeuil Towntex was an amazing heavy, multi ply, durable fabric, made for town unlike its more country big brother Sportex. Recently Dormeuil reintroduced a 12oz or possibly less "vintage" Towntex with cashmere that has nothing to do with the original in terms of cloth quality other than the slightly retro looking patterns. If its the old stuff go for it. otherwise avoid the new "vintage".Bertel wrote:Thank you!
I have further inquired, turned out that the current owner has no information about the production dates of the fabrics, but was rather praising their „vintag-like qualities“...
I have found some John Foster, will rather go for these.
Its an all too common marketing ploy that mills are using these days: they release dumbed down versions of their old classic fabrics and tout them as "vintage."
