Hello,

I am thinking recently about a bright green jacket in a shade like these socks:

Does anybody knows a proper wool fabric in this colour in 350g or more?

Best regards and thank you for your help!
Hristo

There's a place you can get those free of charge. How's your golf game? :D

Hi Hristo,

I would start with checking the weight of the two shades of green in W.Bill Classic Coatings book (the book ranges from 460 to 725 grams). They are the WB21580 and the WB21612. I also like the Racing Green (cat. no. 8975) in Dugdale's New Fine Worsted book, but that's only 280-310 grams.

Please keep us informed! Best wishes,

federico

Thank you, Federico!
Very good input! I am looking for something a little bit brighter.

My idea is a bright green jacket with white flannel trousers.
Here there is something similar with bright blue instead of bright green:
http://www.the-journal-of-style.com/wp- ... yle-21.jpg (I look only at the jacket and trousers ignoring the rest of the combo)

The bright colour makes the combination more casual and easy going (I am 26 y.old) and green (especially in a bright shade) is something very under utilized. I see it only in knitwear and socks. Why not trying it as a jacket with white flannel. Just as if it was knitwear.

My humble suggestion, unless you have the wherewithal to sustain bespoke costs for something you might not wear very often, is to try and soruce something inexpensive off-the-rack / on eBay to see if the combination really works...

OTOH, a darker shade seems less risky and, not being standard-issue navy-blazer, would still come across as more casual/individual.

Just my US$ 0.02.

Thank you, Luca for your input. I would consider to buy a good fitting bright green pullover or choose a darker shade of green, but for now I want to see if I could find suitable fabric in the green I am looking for.

Hristo, have a look at Hainsworth's doeskins. The Intelligence Green could be what you are after. The colors are much brighter in person than what the pictures suggest.

Regards.

There is also a number of gabardine bunches that would have similar shades.
