Non-crease Tie Silk

Just received two traditional, rtw ties that I ordered in non-crease silk. I think that I like them but not sure. Perhaps the rough texture was just too unexpected and different from the type of tie that I have long been wearing. I would appreciate any thoughts on this material.

My son wears non-crease silk ties as part of his high school uniform. They are more like crease resistant than non-crease. We find that feature useful since he gives neckties a hard time, wearing them day in and day out for long hours, and putting them on and off often for PE, sports, etc. without much care.
Their texture is stiffer (ribbed) but not unpleasant.
