shown above (click for high-res)? Bedford twill?

Looks like covert cloth/Venetian to me.

Venetian. Better suited to trousers in my view.

I think it works on this gentleman, possibly down to his impeccable shirt and accessories.

More casual than a standard worsted jacket, but works in this context.
