First let me reasssure members that I am not considering a change in career at this late stage!
A young lady has recently graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in fashion and would like to become apprenticed to a bespoke tailor. Anderson and Sheppard have been very kind to her and she has completed a couple of work experience days there but the problem she faces is that most Savile Row tailors only accept apprentices from one of the London colleges so she cannot get started. I was hoping our many tailor members might be able to offer some advice. I have seen her work and it is good and she appreciates she has many years of hard learning ahead but is determined that she wants to do bespoke mens tailoring. I would not be asking for help if I did not believe she has both the talent and the determination, I have known her since she was a child.
Any advice please?
How to start in tailoring?
There are also those on The Cutter and Tailor who may be able to help. That forum has a high concentration of tailor members
