Double breasted Waistcoat

Hello gentlemen,
Following on from a fantastic post about wedding suits by Alden I am exploring the option of a double breasted waistcoat for my upcoming wedding.
I think it may add a nice formality to the standard two button suit I plan on wearing.
Is there anything I should look out for? Are there things to avoid. Any information that can provided will be very much appreciated.
All I need now is a good tailor in Dublin who may be able to provide what I am looking for.
Regards
Nirish

Good idea. If the suit is dark, I would go with a waistcoat that is very light gray, white or buff. Either way, you will look very fitting to the occasion. All the best.

Contrasting linen waistcoats used to be the fashion in the 30's, and I see some good examples today also. The LL dove grey linen might be a good shade for this.

Nirish,
If I were to wear a 2b suit to my wedding I would give my tailor the best piece of cloth I could find, probably a dark grey worsted or flannel. My shirtmaker would receive a commission for a splendid white shirt with a Windsor collar and tie space. The LL club tie by Charvet would be rescued from the closet, and a fine white linen hanky would be neatly folded in my chest pocket. Next I would polish a pair of black cap toe oxfords, probably EG 808 or 88 lasts and match a pair of dark grey silk stockings to my suit.
In all things and in every way, I would seek to cast light upon the woman of my life at center stage. In all things and in every way, I would want my clothes to cover my body and open my heart to everyone in attendance.
I guess that means I would not wear a double breasted waistcoat.
Cheers

What I'd like to have made someday, is a three piece suit made with a DB vest with peak lapels if the jacket is single breasted peak lapels. And shawl lapels on the DB vest if the jacket is single breasted notch lapels.

How about a cream or dove grey linen waistcoat with mother of pearl buttons?

That would be nice with a blazer or sport jacket.
