Fabric for smoking jacket

Which fabric is more suitable for a smoking jacket? 120, 160 etc?

You can make it out of anything you like. Maybe, temperature conditions (climate\heating) are the most important considerations. Cotton velvet is one choice as modern silk velvet is difficult to get outside of uphoulstery. Silk is a possibility; corduroy is another but you can make one out of anything. King George V and his sons seemed keen on tartan smoking suits.
