For the trousers, my tailor mentioned a 'double-crotch' option for increased durability. I accepted without even knowing or asking how this is done

I suspect that this "double crotch" business must be just a lined crotch (between the legs) like the ones I used to have on my school uniform trousers. Obviously, it´s only effective if there´s where your trousers get first worn out.

thank you for the explanation and notes. I've never managed to wear out a pair of trousers (yet), but I thought I would try this "double crotch" on my first flannel commission. The mid-grey pair, and even the cream one, will go well with almost all my tweed jackets, so I could end up wearing them (or at least the grey ones) often. For the same reason, I went for 3/4 lining on the front. This order is very much an experiment to familiarize with flannel before having a flannel suit made.

I'm confident I'll be wearing this 370-400grams cloth for at least 10 months a year, since I never have troubles wearing trousers of this weight in Summer. We're having quite a few days of 28C temperature here this year!
