Re Toms: I love the business model, but hate the shoes!

I am undecided between Castaner and the Espadrille Store, but leaning towards the latter. Probably still with a rubber undersole, to be honest - the 'true' espadrilles are about twice the price and it would be heartbreaking to get my size wrong. I can get a pair later, I suppose. Also, the only available colours are white or black, and I'd rather some stripes or a nice red or blue.

Also, I can't bring myself to pay Mr Porter prices for Castaner, and the cheaper options I've found don't have much in my size.

Wore espadrilles as a kid and hated them. Didn't seem to hold to the foot well and god forbid you get the rope soles wet!! Put me off them for life
