Hello. Ive noticed Fox flannel has updated their books. What is the general consensus from this forum on their quality?
Jimmy
They have repackaged the LL Fox book designs into their "Heritage Series" at a lower weight spec. It is still pretty good.
I would not suggest any other of their flannels at the lower weight ranges. Wait for LL flannel if you want 13-16 ounce flannel.
Their heaviest weight overcoatings are not bad. Stay away from the mid to light weights. Once again, wait for LL overcoats.
I would not suggest their worsteds or jacketings. That is not Fox's Heritage. LL Cloth Club for worsteds and jacketings.
I have to chuckle because when I was called up to Fox to design the LL Fox Book, I told them to focus on their "Heritage" and by that I meant their "Archives." The qualities and designs in the Archives made Fox Bros. The rest of what they try to do is dross. Well they took my tough love to heart. And now they have rebranded the LL Fox Book as their "Heritage."
Mamma mia.
Cheers

I'd suggest that if your tailor has an account with Fox Brothers then order via this route rather than from The Merchant Fox.
The MF markup on the cloth is staggering.

I was looking at the Limited Edition Mayfair flannel(50% cashmere) its in a heavier weight.
Would be OK for a jacket but its too light for an OC. And not a suiting at all.I was looking at the Limited Edition Mayfair flannel(50% cashmere) its in a heavier weight.
Cashmere is not a core competency for Fox. They make good flannel.
We make better goods here. And that's a fact!
