how to wear a silver tie?

I have been given a silver tie as a present. its a nice italian silk tie, it has firm thick texture with a bit of a grain in it. it is a really light silver and is bordering on white.
Is there a way to wear this tie that would look good? would you wear it with a white shirt for a white on white look, with maybe a navy suit? or would you wear it with a dark grey shirt or even blue?

any thoughts on this topic?

All those looks sound great. You could wear a nice blue shirt with a white collar double cuffs as well. As for suits grey, blue, and black work very well and not just as solids either, you can also try pin and chalk stripe or glen plaid patterns.

thanks for that, i do have a blue and white striped shirt with white collar and white french cuffs and was thinking about that to go with it. so i will try it out and see how it looks.
