Button-down collar length

What is the best length for a button-down collar?

I prefer something substantial, about 5-6cms. That way if I am going without a tie the collar stands up to cover most of the neck.

Brooks Brothers BD length is 3 3/8",with a 3 1/4 " button to button spread.That 1/8" difference accounts for the roll.Many of the RTW Italian brands start at 3 1/2" length and on further;that would include a higher collar band width.
