Hello All,

As a man who has always had an interest in fashion and absolutley no interest in his 9 to 5 anymore, how can I gain information on learning the art of tailoring and make a living at the same time? I've always been amazed at how tailors create. I live in North Jersey and NYC is less than an hour away.
If there is any tailor in need of a 40 something apprentice or if any one can offer any advise, please post.

Thanx,

Hello, Rocco57!

Before starting an apprenticeship you should try a tailoring course. They should be available in your area. Just check out, if you have talent and if you like tailoring. You have to like it, because it is one of the less paid professions, especially during the apprentice time, which could last 2 or 3 years(if you want to learn it properly).

The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) offers both day and night classes. It is the leading school in New York.
