When speaking of fabrics what does the term "hand" specifically refer to? As in "this tweed has a wonderful hand to it", etc.

how it feels when touched and caressed in one' palm: the feel, the way it creases and resists one's approach, how it rubs between one's fingers.

Only experimentation will teach you what a good hand is.
