Leather Soled Shoe Finish

Can someone please tell me what product is used to finish oak bark tanned leather soled shoes.

Do you mean "what is it finished with from the factory" or "what should I apply to keep the leather from cracking"?

That depends very much from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some soles just get waxed and buffed, others get coated with paint (orange for Hermes, blue forTim Little), some manufacturers like to paint only the waist while others run a decorative edge (scalloping) all around the sole.

Whatever the finish is, it’s purely cosmetic. Wear the shoes a couple of times, and the finish has gone.
