Re: Dressing "too old for your age?"

This question arose from a night out I had recently, where one of my (female) friends pointed someone out and said that he was dressed 'too old for his age'. I was intrigued, and asked what she meant - it seems that, in her mind, there are some clothes which appear to 'age' people. I asked if I dre...

Going to the comparison with GFF, Valentino looks like an aging playboy vs an elderly and dignified gentleman. For me that is saying a lot on his taste and aesthetic sense - you cannot, IMHO, have an orange tone of skin and a totally artificial hair color and pretend to be the keeper of aesthetical ...

I am, like shredder, in the E61 legion. Compared to BB, which frankly I hate, has very good basic functions - phone, address book, calendar, etc - a great keyboard (which opened me towards SMS) and very good email and browser functions, keyboard is better and screen and screen fonts great. I use Gma...

Thank you! I thought you were going to write it looked better on the dummy than on me :) He is open to new ideas (well, they are not that new, but I don't think he used this button stance before) and, in my opinion, he interprets these ideas conservatively and harmoniously, a quality I greatly appr...

Great jacket, and I might add, it looks better in real than in pictures - saw it on the dummy in Mr. Negrila's workshop! Congratulations!

Thank you for your replyes. I have heard from other sorces that saphir was very good but I wanted to hear what you use and recomend. I was also wondering if any other members had the same colour shoes and if so what colour they used as I am finding it hard to colour match and have no way of doing s...

Hi goddenrich, I have lobb st.james stuff plus other various shoes and I use simple Kiwi polish.... NEVER ever had a problem with my shoes. A LOT of various shoe dealers sell re-branded simple polish. I honestly never waste money on expensive polish with an exotic name / or from an exotic shop. How...

Thank you, gentlemen, for your most interesting comments. Of course, I did not expect any eulogies on the President's inaugural wear which I also thought rather odd (resembling those tux-rentals). Second question: Does the President of the United States (not the First Lady) have a 'dress consultant...

Is it an actual coat (bespoke for you) or a display coat (merchandising_. What I find curious is that the pockets are already cut and trimmed, which is not a normal procedure for a coat at its first basted fitting!

Re: Awaiting Tone Loki's pics

Thanks for the offer, Tone Loki. Yes, I would enjoy seeing your photos. And thanks for the article, Marcelo. An interesting article. Sadly, the client lives in the arid semi-desert southwestern United States, near the Mexican border. I'm not sure a three piece suit is practical. Mr. Gleason did hav...

Frankly, I think that my suits are better made than what happened to our colleague with very reputable SR houses. The problem is to bring enough young tailors back on the market in order to create a competitive environment that will keep the prices at a "normal" level. What we have now in terms of b...
