Vendor for wool fabric

Hello,

My friend visits London frequently and would like to purchase some Smith, Lesser and Harrisons fabrics. Do they have a vendor in London? Can the fabric be mail ordered by an individual or do they only sell to trade? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Re: New summer suit

I recently commissioned my first real summer suit made of some Holland & Sherry "Nevada" cloth (not the wool/poly blend, the wool/cotton/linen one.) We're now up to our third fitting, and we haven't hit any bumps yet. The silhouette is the same as my grey wool/mohair one. I don't think Mr. Min has ...

That´s the logo of Georges Duboeuf, the French wine merchant.

Thank you,

I recently purchased some old unworn ties which were in a box at a fabric merchant. One of which was the yellow with the logo.

Thank you.

This is a Knize I found on the web.

Would this look more incongruent in black?

Any idea how the trousers may have been braided? Perhaps with blue?

Re: Shawl collar dinner suit - self lapel?

I am leaning towards generous (large) self lapels in the shawl. Has anyone done this? Any advice? Are you planning on covering the side seams of your trousers with self cloth too? And what about the silk covered buttons on the jacket? Would you be using plain black buttons instead? Hmmmm, Had not t...

Shawl collar dinner suit - self lapel?

Hello, Many of the ivory shawl collars I see have self lapels. In black, many have satin, fewer grosgrain and the very occasionally self lapel. I am leaning towards generous (large) self lapels in the shawl. Has anyone done this? Any advice? Thank you, - Any idea if this MafooFan self-collar? http:/...

Re: Horizontally Striped Shirt - Need Help w/ Decision

Have you considered white collars and cuffs?
I would pick the pink in the first pic and white french cuffs and white collar.

Re: Holland and Sherry "Nevada"

Am comparing white voile vs white linen-cotton for the heat performance. I wish you luck in finding the right voile for the shirt. I've had a not so great experience with the cloth. Too sheer for a dark dinner jacket and it doesn't feel that soft on the skin either. Linen shirts have been by far th...

Holland and Sherry "Nevada"

Hello, Any experiences with this fabric for the hot and humid tropics. There is a post of a member getting a suit made but I am unable to find the link to the photographs. Can anyone please help? It comes in a french blue and a dark midnight blue. Any chance the midnight blue is dark enough for a di...

Re: Johnstons of Elgin

The WSJ also just had a blurb on the Ducasse visit to the London cheese stores. Yes, the photo was taken at Neal's Yard the day I was there. I prefer the Stilchington to the Stilton at Neals Yard as it has more character. And Devon blue is interesting as well. I tasted a blue cheese from Oregon tha...

Thank you.

However,
My colleague is in S'pore for a few more days. It is much less expensive to buy at the stores. That is why I was inquiring about a local source there.

Re: Men's magazine for those who do not read men's magazine

Hello, Have friend in S'pore, asked him to pick up some copies. This is his reply: I have bought the latest issue of the rake (5th issue is now in the market) but I cannot find the previous issues. All bookstores say that they return the old issues to the distributor once the new one is out. I will ...

Re: My Haberdashery Report

I got my doctorate at UNM. Albuquerque had a few decent shops. Stromberg's had a very nice wooden interior that may have come from a NY mansion. A few of the guys at Stromberg's left and joined "La Chemise" or something similar. There was a pretty decent alterations tailor either on Zuni or close to...
