Gentlemen
On the lighter & whimsicle side I can't count on the number of times where my cuffs/turnups have caught loose change that has fallen out of my pocket. Will modern wonders never end ?

Re: Downton Abbey
Gentlemen Speaking as a "Yank" from the otherside of the pond, I wish that we had not descended into the mire of Gentlemanly Modernity. I wish we had kept the good sense of dressing for dinner, not the pajama class, sockless, cut off shorts, dirty tee shirt, scruffy hair & unshaven wonders that we h...

Re: Turn ups on DB Suits?
 Gentlemen In my opinon I have "Cuffs" (as we say on this side of the pond) or Turn Up's as you say on all of my suitings & dress pants. It seems to me that the following effects take place: 1. It completes the balance between the jacket & pants, there is a form of symetry & balance effecte...

Re: Adolphe Menjou And His Closet
Gentlemen Since we are on this great site about Gentlemen, Sophistication, Clothes & Style; my apologies I forgot to state that this has been lost today not only with the silver screen (want to be) actors today; but simply in our daily personal life style. I bemoan where o' where has the personal go...

Re: Burberry trenchcoat
Gentlemen Pardon me but has any body looked at the brute of a monster from Brooks Brothers, last that I remember I looked at it and bought it at 1/2 the price of the then Burbury's and it seemed just as equall to the B's. The only thing different would be the color of the tartan lining used that Bur...

Re: Storage For Braces
Gentlemen To add my 2 penny's to your conversation, what I use is a special designed white coated epoxy hanger that was originally desigend to hold ties; on 2 vertical rows with brances to the left & right of each vertical trunk with upturns at the end to prevent slippage. I hang each of the color c...

Re: Adolphe Menjou And His Closet
Gentlemen I have not had the pleasure yet as to read Mr. A. Flusser's book, but what I have seen of A.Menjue on the silver screen he strikes me as the most dapper & sophisticated actor that in my humble opinion was truly the grandest of the whole bunch. The way he carried himself, his diction, his D...

Re: reasonably priced soft tailored suit
Hello & Good Evening to All I am a new member to the LL, I find it quite stimulating to read all the comments and banter of the back & forth of the merits of the GB suiting made. I am not British or from the UK but from across the pond as you say, from Brooklyn NY to be exact. I can tell you in my h...
