Re: Fabric books for casual shirts
I have seen rolls of nice chambray with the edge marked Albini and I know someone that had a shirt made of it and is very happy, however at the times there were no many shades available. Apparently the current rustic Sommonot Godard Chambray is a Poly-cotton mix and having been gifted a cut lenght I...

Re: Highest Quality Bespoke Ties
As regards Marinella, their RTW ties are (were) made in Drake's factory in London. The bespoke ties however are made in Naples by hand in an atelier there. I have a few dozen Marinella bespoke ties and I consider them real treasures. They are my go to neckties along with my Charvets. Cheers Dear Al...

For the holiday season I would like to get some cotton madras trousers and potentially shorts, but have no idea who makes suck a fabric. I have seen shirting weight from various sources but no...

Re: The Grand Shirt Refurbishment Project (sources needed!)
At that point would not be better ask them ro re-make the collar band as well? I have few tunic shirts + detachable collar and they have a pocket at the back where the stud is inserted to attach the band to the detachable collar. This design protect the back of your collar from touching the stud dir...

Re: Artcle by Alden: The first serious step in bespoke
And how to chose one of these as a newbie? Just gut felling or who speak (or do not speak) English? ;) I second that, could someone please provide some more info about those mentioned? The only one on the list for who I could put my hands into the fire is Signora Anna Matuozzo. The price range is a...

This is important: http://www.webflakes.com/fashion/bonne-gueule/emmanuel-berg-shirts Whether you choose to go to a made-to-measure shirt house or a ready-to-wear brand, in either case you accept a stylistic bias in terms of the artisan or the brand. Your complete set of measurements will never res...

Re: Good shirtmaker in UK
Just a note about muslin fitting in Italy: I have had shirt made my various Neapolitan shirt makers , including Luciano Lombardi and Vincenzo Prisco. Most of those shirt makers makes a template for first fitting with old/obsolete shirting. This is their muslin version, but they told me to prefer to ...

Re: silk shirts
I had few Cotton/Silk blends (I believe around 70/30), where the silk contributed to the feel and look but the cotton kept it wearable. They did worn out pretty fast compared to cotton only, maybe due to the occasional normal wash (forgetting to use Silk/wool only laundry liquids). I have seen few s...

Re: Royal Jubilee
The morning coat Charles is wearing is Anderson and Shepherd I believe and approximately 20 years old. I spotted the piping as well and am not sure I like it but the overall impression of the outfit was exceptionally smart. At St Pauls I was struck by how many men were wearing striped ties. I am no...
