Re: Overcoat lining

My wife and I both wear our everst overcoats with standard modern linings, and the coats are more than warm enough to deal with the cold Canadian winter like that.

Richard Anderson in Toronto

Hello gentlemen, It may interest some of you to know Richard Anderson will be making a stop in Toronto on May 25th. This will be there first Canadian stop in some decades. If there is sufficient interest, they will continue to make this stop. If any are interested, I'm happy to correspond about my e...

Re: How are you getting your work done?

Very slowly in person in Toronto. Nothing at all happening with my London tailor. Haven't explored skype fittings with them yet. Has the tailoring scene improved there? When I was there a few years ago it was really hard to find someone, everyone seemed to go to trend. I'll let you know, its my fir...

Re: New project

Dear Stobo, I totally agree - as always - to Michael, that the use intended to the garment will be the decision to be made. As I live downtown (Vienna, Austria) with rather cold temperature from October to April, a coat shorter than a 3/4 coat would not make much sense for me, except I go for a pea...

Re: New project

The question of function is an interesting one. Given the lack of patterns in my day to day life in recent years, partly through frequent moving and traveling, and partly covid induced, it's hard to imagine a particular part of my day where a new coat fits in. Though that certainly doesn't seem to h...

New project

Gentlemen, The Lounge has been awful quiet of late, so I thought I would do my best to liven it up a little. I'm set to begin a new project this week. The test from the new Shetland should arrive this week, and in keeping with trying to be a diligent tester, I plan on taking it straight to the tailo...

Looks like a lovely, deep, aqua blue colour of sorts with a beautiful crimson check and a more subtle blue check as well. Be...

Canadian Tailors

Gentlemen, I'm looking for help from those with experience with Canadian tailors. I've just returned from living down under for the last few years, and while unpacking I've re-discovered a number of lovely clothes I got courtesy of Alden's designs, and I'm hoping to have them made up. Up until now I...

Re: If you had to start over again, where would you begin and which tailor would you pick?

Dear LL members, If you had to pick a tailor on the row today who would you pick and why? When the dust settles with the ongoing pandemic, I would like to commission a suit from a row tailor and am wondering between Dege and Skinner and Richard Anderson (two button, straight flaps). I have had one ...

Re: Suit pressing in Toronto

I went to one of the local well known bespoke tailors and they offered to fix it for me.
To your point couch, it certainly improved with a few days hanging, but unfortunately did not resolve.

Suit pressing in Toronto

Anyone with any knowledge of Toronto tailoring services? I have a beautiful suits which Steed made up wonderfully for me, but customs had the nerve to open the package up to inspect it. When I picked up the package, one of the lapels was poorly folded and the roll on it now very lopsided compared to...
