I'd be interested as well. The bionda looks especially attractive.

Re: Dressing a Thornproof
Gentlemen Thank you very much for your kind replies. The cream shirting I had already tried to satisfaction, but had not thought about light blue at all. I haven't tried a white shirt as I find the contrast to stark, but a bright knit yellow tie might be nice and adventurous. The only tie in my poss...

Dressing a Thornproof
Dear Members (not sure this is the right spot for such question) Anyone that has an LL Thornproof jacket or suit with suggestions for shirt and tie combinations? The LL Thornproof suit is probably my favorite of all, even if I don't wear it often given it does not fit in a business environment. But ...

Re: Music of the Day
Dear Hectom So nice to see someone else here enjoying this genre. There are really great rappers out there. French rap in particular can be beautiful. And that is before trying to understand the lyrics, which is hard for non-natives given the slang. But just the melodic voice with a good beat can ma...

Re: Ballantyne
Never mind the body length, what's with the arms? So many RTW garments these days seem to be made for arms that are more suited to swinging through trees than hanging passively from the shoulder of a human being! I for one find it very hard to find RTW garments with enough sleeve length. And my for...

Re: The role of bespoke in a relaxed environment
Life in Amsterdam is as informal as can be. Only around the business centers does one see suits, but ties are often absent. Wearing my favourite suit for the season, in the LL Thornproof, makes me stand out like little else. It is both the fit and the cloth that make this a unique look in our street...

Re: Peak Lapels
Dear Uppercase Old Henry did a SB, one-button peak lapel for Antony Bourdain in LL grey flannel by Fox. I think it looks marvellous, even though I'm normally not in the single button camp. But with Mr. Bourdain's frame, tall and slim but not narrow shouldered, it works really well to my eyes. http:/...

Re: Beautiful Pens
I have moved entirely to Nakaya pens -beautifully made. All of the nibs however have had to be customised - what a price to pay for being left - handed. They are all beautiful to write with. I second that! A Nakaya Long Writer is my only fountain pen at the moment. I love the feel, how understated ...

I am also Dutch and I also remember Zwarte Kip advocaat being served to my aunts with a spoon. Not sure these were the same aunts as Gido's as I don't remember a boy named Gido when I was a child. :D Zwarte Kip is made by Bols, but maybe for the home market only. Wikipedia states that the thick vari...

Re: Safely in the fold...
Tutumulut, the size of the vacuum bags are 80cm x 55 cm price for a pack of 4 on Amazon UK £2.99 - just checked and they are still on sale. :D Thank you very much, Dr T! Will go ahead and order some myself. And yes, I've always turned one sleeve head inside the other, inside out, not knowing I was ...

Re: Safely in the fold...
I have used this method following watching this video -it works very well. The only difficulty was getting the zip bags in the right size. Amazon sells them as vacuum bags - you will find them very durable -just keep them with enough air in to create the protection needed. Dr T May I ask you which ...

Re: The Minimal Necktie Wardrobe
That is all nice and well, Frederic, but without proof, what are we to believe?
Pictures please! Outside, inside, macro, micro, as much as you can. I have the feeling this is going to be a most wonderful excursion into the Golden Days and who better as guide than you?

Thank you for bringing her up.
Your mother and I have a shared taste. Amy Camus is also one of my favorites!
