Re: Lumbs Golden Bale made in the 80s and 90s
I went for the navy blue Lumbs in the same sale - at Graham Browne in the City. When I was there yesterday they did have some nice grey Lumbs still available. There's also some very nice cashmere and tweed jacketings that caught my eye.

Re: Stylish slim wallets
http://www.maltonkielman.com/products/accessories/page2/ Thanks! 120 euros for the simple leather... well, that's actually in the same price range than many of the other recommendations here. OK. How about Visconti UK? They have a variety in the 15-25 pounds price range: http://www.viscontibags.co....

I'm rather partial to my Herring Draycott. They're sold out at the moment but I understand they're due in the next few months.

Try the Gentleman's Shop in Hungerford. They keep good stocks, and offer mail order.

Re: Best cloths for tailoring Rus in Urbe?
I agree - Autumnal cloths are by far my favourite.
The ordered fabrics sound great. I trust we will see pictures when complete?

Re: Marling and Evans
I don't recall I'm afraid. I'll check next time I'm in there however.
I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same fabric - although I thought it a creamier grey.

Re: Marling and Evans
I may well have done - in fact I was inspired to hunt for this cloth by a nice Pal Zieri (sp?) I saw a while back. It is indeed from the new issue. I saw it first in Quearney's. I described the fabric to him and he immediately knew what I meant. I had a similar conversation with Russell at Graham Br...

Re: Marling and Evans
That's rather nice. It might not make a suit you'd want to wear to client meetings or for job interviews but I think that would look lovely as a db. Remember, all these rules and 'must dos' are there for the guidance of wise men and the blind obedience of fools. If you like the fabric, and the colou...

Re: Marling and Evans
Thanks Rowly, kind of you to say. Graham Browne have a box of swatches from Marling and Evans if you're interested. There are some lovely colours and patterns available. I take it you're considering this for your Rus In Urbe jacket, you mentioned on the other thread? I'm not sure if it's your style ...

Re: Marling and Evans
It's with the cashmere. It's very comfortable to wear - not as warm as I had feared. It was fine to wear all day in the office with the jacket on, and kept me warm enough in the chill wind in London as I walked to lunch and to the train.
