Re: Edward Green Shoes
I apologise if this topic has been covered elsewhere. I'm wondering about Edward Green's last 32. Their webstore does not list it, but it seems popular in several finer shoe stores of Asia. I found this tidbit online: http://uptowndandy.blogspot.com/2012/03/evolution-of-last-edward-green-from-to.htm...

Re: Kniže Vienna
...just found a bit more info and photos on Kniže along with other Viennese tailors. In Japanese, though, but we can read most of it with Google's translation service.

The cloths of Vitale Barberis Canonico
I've recently taken an interest in VBC's cloths, particularly their flannels, but found little info online on how theirs might rate compared to other Italian mills.
What's the verdict of The Lounge -- how is VBC's stuff?

Re: Bespoke shoes from John Lobb
...I'm sorry to be the only one, but these look like John Blobs on my screen. I've owned a pair from Cleverley and another from John Lobb Ltd., and the JLL had these same problems. While the make and details are careful, it's the lasts that leave me wanting. Bespoke pairs from Cleverley, G&G and suc...

Re: Chester Barrie
I'm lifting this old topic as my question suits it best.
What's the latest word on Chester Barrie? I know their Chester by Chester Barrie line is rubbish, but do they still make those wonderful full-canvas-with-all-the-works jackets?

I like Eidos Napoli's new take immensely:

Re: Contrasting waistcoat
The best guideline for odd vests, judging by the examples I've seen in photos and illustrations of yore, is to use a lighter vest under darker jackets or suits. While I cannot really how this habit was born, it has simply been the thing to do. Perhaps it works to lighten an otherwise dark or dour wh...

arkirshner, thank you for the add! That's important info for my book project, too, though shame on Condé Nast for skimping on such old images Joe Regular will never even see.

What happened to (e)tutee?
I've been reading several style forums for many years now, and the nickname tutee or etutee has definitely some of the most interesting, helpful and insightful posts to this day. Trouble is, the man has vanished online. I'm sure some of you have met him or exchanged messages with him. What ever happ...

Re: Apparel Arts and Esquire Images
I'm sure we have some lawyers on the forum. What does the current American copyright law say about style illustrations like these AA and Esky images? Are they in the public domain now that some 70 years have passed since publication, and the original artists are dead and buried, too?

Foo, if your mind is open to challenge the work of Charvet with a French contender, RJ's recommendation for Lanvin is full of praise:

Re: Patch pockets
Patch pockets are more eye-catching than your average flapped or jetted ones, and thus a bit more informal. You don't really see them on formalwear, to be sure, so it is best to leave them off from your smartest dark suits, too. If you decide in their favour, just be sure not to load them up with he...

Kniže Vienna
What's the word on Knize? There's precious little info about the maker online and I'd like to know more. The London Lounge must be the right place as I don't speak German, so Stilforum is off limits.
