Re: The Rest is A&S.
A very entertaining watch, but am I the only one disappointed by the collar of the blue pinstripe suit which looks very much to be sitting off the wearer’s neck?

Re: A cloth-hunter’s cautionary tale
I had my tailor make me a jacket in an H&S Harris tweed. Imagine my horror when I went for drink with a pal who turned up wearing a jacket made of exactly the same cloth, which he had bought OTR in M&S!!

Re: Steven Hitchcock Wabi Sabi
I have just worked it out and I think I have probably used seven or eight cutters over the years, mostly out of curiosity and, objectively, probably not a good idea. I have enjoyed the experience with almost all of them. I find that tailors listen, but only up to a point. In the end they all do wha...

To my eye it doesn't look like much has changed between fittings. I think I would share your discomfort.

Looks like they are chalked to be shortened at the front already. I would lift the back rise on the trousers to make them cleaner above the knee.

Re: Polo Coat question
Dear Aston, It’s not the colour that’s called British Warm but rather the wool and its thickness. It’s inspired from the wool that Churchill wore to the meeting in Yalta. Very thick wool. There are several merchants who sell it but I am sure it’s nothing even remotely close to the original. Alex De...

Re: Polo Coat question
I agree that some of what Crompton does is a little odd. He conceived a coat in a color called British Warm..........

Re: Midnight blue dinner jacket
My experience of a true midnight blue is that it is impossible to tell it is "blue" unless held very close to a true black.

Belimad I also use Dan and he is quite a talent, as is Richard when it comes to knowledge on cloth. Dave is great for alterations. Don't know how they do it for the money really.
