Re: Edward Green Shoes
Don't let it be a chore. Wait for a good rainy day. Turn on some good music. Get all your supplies organized and have fun doing it...its actually relaxing. And when you are done your shoes and boots look great. I recently did necessary regular maintenance on my trumpet at home for the first time. I...

Re: Ultimate NY Winter Overcoat?
Michael,
Can you share a comparison of loden v. boiled wool, please? I'm curious as to the wind and water resistance of each cloth.

Re: The Perfect Dram
I'm a huge fan of Ardbeg and their 10 is a default choice in my drinks cabinet. I was on a business trip to Halifax a few years back, and the bartender gave me a dram of Ardbeg 10 to accompany a dozen oysters on the half shell. I found the flavor to be a wonderful accompaniment to the briny oysters...

San Francisco restaurants
Our first visit to San Francisco is imminent. Are there any restaurants you can recommend in the city? I've read a number of online reviews, but would trust the recommendation of the LL membership to steer us in the right direction.

Re: The Sporting Life
After my initial post I had a brief period of unease, as I wondered if my comments would trigger a rush of condemnation. I’ve had “friends” shun me once they learned of my passion for harvesting wild game (and firearms), so it is encouraging to see the thoughtful, and very welcome, variety of respon...

The Sporting Life
Our area is blessed with an abundance of pheasant, partridge, woodcock, and grouse, and one of my favorite pastimes is walking the woods and fields in pursuit of upland game for the table. The varied terrain, time with friends, excitement of following a working dog, and the pleasure of a well-balanc...

Re: Rooms
The morel is king in Minnesota. Every May we roam the woods searching for these treasures. Simply sauteed in butter, I could eat them by the forkful.
They can also be dehydrated and used throughout the year. We save quite a few this way for use on fresh venison steaks after the fall hunt.

Re: English Cut / Thomas Mahon in administration
Years ago I stumbled upon Tom's website, and I turned to English Cut at that time to begin my bespoke journey. I flew from Minneapolis to Chicago to meet with Tom, and once my wife and I met him in New York when he hosted cocktail party. After one suit and one jacket he removed Chicago from his itin...

Re: Hand crafted Sardinian Knives
Michael, your collection is very beautiful. I would certainly be interested, should you ever decide to design a LL knife. I picked up several Laguiole folding knives on our last trip to Paris. Yet whenever we throw sausage and cheese into the picnic basket, and head out for a cruise in our old MGB, ...

What to wear behind the wheel of your vintage car
The article below generated much discussion among the members of my car club. I wonder if any of my fellow LL members enjoying motoring in vintage cars, and if so, what are your wardrobe favorites behind the wheel? In the early and late season, I reach for my father’s old tweed jacket almost exclusi...

Your Paris suggestions
I’m reaching out to the LL membership for your personal advice and suggestions about Paris. My wife and I will be travelling to Paris in October. It will be my first trip to the city and her second. She was last there 15 years ago as a student; a quite different experience than we hope for this Octo...

The mustachioed little man
I've spent two decades looking for the most enjoyable caffeinated way to begin my mornings and cap off my evening meals. After bouncing back and forth between Saeco and Jura, I reached for an old friend this week and find myself wondering why I ever put him away. There's something simple and satisfy...

Restaurant recommendations in Venice and Rome
I would like to ask my fellow members for restaurant recommendations in Venice and Rome. The Venice meal will be in the evening following our wedding. We would like to have a short cocktail reception followed by a dinner highlighting local specialties. No more than 25 guests. Following the wedding, ...
