Re: Alps
Edward. I agree with DFR. I spend a lot of time in the Canadian Rockies. Firstly, I suggest buying a light weight synthetic Gor-Tex type boot. Buy before you go, & use them, if they are not comfortable you will have time to replace. Secondly, light weight boots will work well with jeans for a county...

Re: Cruise Attire
Having cruised a number of times I must agree with "Concordia". If you do not want to take a suite. Take an odd jacket or blazer, wear with a pair of light weight trousers, dress shirt & tie.
Pack to mix & match & do not forget that there will be laundry service on the ship.
Have a good trip.

Royal Jubilee
From Canada & watching the Royal Jubilee celebrations I wish to comment has follows. At the final celebration there was a Palace balcony view & flyover. Are there any comments on the Princes dress & in particular the lapel "piping"? (In Canada we do see Graham Norton). Can we expect a "Prince Edward...

Re: Can bespoke enter the computer age.
To the extent that there are frequent and serious errors in the work of Savile Row though, I'm all for it embracing such technology if it helps. In my mind, it wouldn't reduce the image I have of the Row or of the suits it makes for me. It would be like a doctor using an MRI. Better the Row embrace...

Can bespoke enter the computer age.
There seems to be a constant concern with bespoke tailoring problems. Would it be possible to create a computer program that will take your body measurements & create a body "image" with clothing you want, such as suite style, shoulders, pockets, trousers etc. you get the drift. It should be "3D" so ...

Re: Snow Shoes
I live in Calgary Alberta and winters no lower than minus five would be a Godsend. The snow removal from the video clip can last from November to April in the mid west USA & Canada. The snow you get in the U.K. is considered heavy rain. Not ment to be demeaning. I have been to Yellowknife, NWT a fe...

Re: choice of tailor
Hello gcg, and welcome! Also congratulations on your approaching marriage, I presume you'd like to broaden your selection a bit and perhaps your friend might be too busy/retired for new orders. However if you're in Yorkshire, which is pretty much in the middle of the rag trade in England with dozens...

Re: Snow Shoes
Being from Minnesota, I know a thing or two about covering ones shoes and trouser cuffs. If you'll watch the opening segment of Airport at 6 min and 16 sec. into the clip you'll see Burt Lancaster put on a pair of boots that cover his trouser bottoms and I think his shoes as well. BTW, the movie wa...

Re: Snow Shoes
So I don't suppose there is any acceptable kind of boot then? Not talking about the tall riding boots kind but those that go higher than the ankles. I see a lot of americans wearing them. I wear Redwing boots 9039 Beckman in winter with jeans. Redwing is an old American company producing a very goo...
