Re: Once a Sicilian, always a Sicilian

Ahhhh, reminds me of il mio Maestro and all that he taught me. As well as the passion and love of the trade he had. How I miss that Italian swagger and passion. Thank you for writing your memories and in a way writing mine. Sarto is a love not easily defined but also not easily lived without.

Re: Can bespoke enter the computer age.

Good evening all. I don't post much here but I do spend a great deal of time reading posts and marveling at the beautiful workmanship on display. I wanted to post a comment on this topic from a different view. I hope to not come across bitter in this "rant". I am an apprentice, or rather I was an ap...

For the sake of waking a sleeping thread:
I love to dress in and create bespoke suits to Maria Callas. If you have not let her magical voice pleasure your ears then I suggest you begin with her version of "Oh Mio Babino Caro"

Re: Turn of century flapped breast pocket

Frank,
Good to see your work. I am also greatful to see someone else continuing the traditions of cutting breast pockets through the canvas and also falling the lapel facings by hand. Great craftmanship from a great liver if the bespoke tradition. Bravo!

Re: Suggestions for Rome

Hello, Dopey, I trained under a brilliant Maestro in Rome for the last two years. The next time you are in Rome and you are looking to have a suit made up by a wonderful man and a perfect Maestro of Italian Sarto I suggest you visit Maestro Luigi Gallo on Via Flavia. He was trained under Litrico and...

Re: Trained Young Tailor, looking for work.

Thanks everyone for all of you help. I have checked out some of these tailors and some are new to me. In fact Chris Despos is high on my list for who I would like to work for, but having trouble getting a hold of him. Thanks all.
