Re: Help me Configure my Polo Coat
Thanks to both Michael and Frederic.
Here's the style I'm leaning towards - 6 x 3, peak lapels with quite a bit of belly and swelled edges, with the lapel softly rolled to the middle button, regular breast welt, turnback cuffs, set-in sleeves, and a martingale.

Help me Configure my Polo Coat
Ordering a new MTM polo coat from The Andover Shop, and would appreciate some comments on the two options below: 1. 4x2 DB with peak lapels (a more standard overcoat configuration) 2. 6x3 DB with Ulster collar (the classic Polo configuration with a higher roll and shorter lapel) Either option will h...

Re: Sastrería Cheverny - Buenos Aires?
Thanks for your message. I'll be leaving next week. Are there any other tailors of note in BA?

Re: Source for Heavy Donegal Overcoatings?
On K&H, you simply have to drop them an email and they'll happily shoot out however many swatches you want. Very fairly priced as well.

Re: Source for Heavy Donegal Overcoatings?
Magee wouldn't sell overcoating to me before, Kevin and Howlin have handwoven overcoatings available for a brief period in October before it is made into their RTW. Studio Donegal also have handwoven in a double-width and indeed provided the cloth for Benedict Cumberbatch's overcoat in Sherlock. Th...

Re: Alterations tailor NYC
Paul Winston ( son of Chipp founder Harry Winston ) shares space with an alterations tailor in the lobby of the building at 28 W 44th St. I'm not sure if he's still making clothes, but in the past Paul used to have the alterations tailor do some of the work that his own tailor couldn't get to. +1 t...

Sastrería Cheverny - Buenos Aires?
Would any LL members know if Sastrería Cheverny is still in business? I intend to be in BA for a week later this month, and they come highly recommended (particularly by the old LL thread by RWS).
Thanks,
Badden

Re: Kniže Vienna
I've visited the store a couple of times, but on each visit have (very politely) been told that they're far too busy to accept new bespoke customers, and veered me towards their MTM Kiton and Brioni offerings. I'm uncertain on whether this is just a tactic to sell more of the higher-margin RTW stuff...

Re: Paris and Fittings at Charvet: Tips?
I agree that is writing is interesting, and I did enjoy his old blog. I do, however, find it suspicious when someone has multiple disputes with various makers which are invariably followed-up with scathing attacks on their character, business dealings etc. We've all had a run-in or two, but Foo's ha...

Re: Paris and Fittings at Charvet: Tips?
Sadly, restraint may be asking too much of young Foo. I expect an angry denunciation of Charvet in about 6-7 months!

Hi David – I did see a swatch in person, and thought it to be on the darker end. I’ll take another look.
