Re: Bright green jacket

There is also a number of gabardine bunches that would have similar shades.

Re: Advice sought on a bag for the office

I am awaiting a bag from Linjer, an upstart new company. They seem interesting, I'll report back once it arrives.

Re: Sam's In Honkers, what linen fabric

Just picked up a Reid and Taylor deadstock PoW three piece from him last Saturday. Not a fast email responder, though.

Re: British professional and social figures and men about to

The three button, peak lapel combination is an intriguing one. As if my choice about doing with my PoW Brisa wasn't difficult enough already.

Re: Seeking advice on weight and color number for Lesser Sui

I find that for summer, Lesser Tropical is a fine choice. It has a number of mid-grey hues that you can look up on their website.

I do, however, disagree with your tailor about the lining point. I wear quite hot, and all my summer suits are unlined.

Re: Casual, not denim

Perhaps don't be too quick to write off the chino. It's true that it's been ruined by horrible fits and stodgy versions of boring tan, but especially with summer coming up, there are a number of very interesting possibilities with them.

Re: Lightweight casual (hunter style?) manbag for traveling?

I travel with my Brady Ariel bag all the time. I regularly have to travel intercontinentally for business, and I have never felt that it was too heavy. 700 grams really is not going to matter.

I have a similar waistcoat, and that is usually the thing that gets me compliments. Never really saw the charm of a cummerbund...

Re: The one-button look

I very much appreciate the one-button look, but will agree that it looks better with a vest, and certainly requires trousers with a proper rise.

Hardy has some in the Worsted Alsport bunch. There are also a few new Dugdale bunches you may want to look at.

Re: Studying at Cambridge

Get a gown from E&R, the whipcord one, not the poly one. Get a dinner suit, and two dark grey suits. Gown rules depend on college. White tie is nearly dead, depending on which May balls you wish to attend. The rest of the time, your classmates will be wearing college jumpers, jeans and sports outfit...

Re: Donegal suit cloth

PS: I'd like to see a 14oz DB donegal suit, I wonder how double-breasted works out in tweed. If you are looking for spot-effect flannel, I'm sorry to say the Minnis one has been discontinued. Looks like I got mine just in time.
