Re: Crisis on Savile Row: can British tailoring survive the impact of Covid-19?

Foster and Son have left Jermyn Street, it appears.

They have a new workshop in Islington; appropriately enough the address is Northampton Street

I was impressed with the suits the staff wore in Oliver Brown bespoke, but the default lapel shape was not the 'West End' cut

Re: Huntsman: The Secret Service

I am not sure that the suits in the film were made by Huntsman though. the tailor was credited by name rather than as Huntsman

Re: Malcolm Plews is back

the Plews website gallery is excellent, one of the best

would be interesting to know if all of these items were made when Plews was at Welsh & Jefferies, or the customer has followed him from house to house

it's a fantastic coat

no doubt the owner will want a few cooler spring days, in order to wear it!

Re: A&S critic

I'd be delighted with the look of the chap in the grey suit. I am not much slighter than him myself.

Graydon Carter looks very good in an A&S SB blazer

Ross tweed

Taller, I have a hat made by Bookster in the 'Ross' tweed. It is waterproof in light/medium rain, should that be a factor for you.

Re: Maurice Sedwell

what is mildly interesting about Kathryn Sargent's charges- going by the ASW blog entry [£3230 suit, £2000 jacket]- is that a pair of trousers is 60% of the price of the jacket, whereas 50%, or less than 50%, is typical.

she charges roughly what G&H charge, no doubt to assure her customers that her move does not mean a drop in quality :)

Re: Stylish cap to cover the ears?

I have ordered an MTO tweed cap with ear flaps from Bookster Tweed today, the Newent model on this page http://www.tweed-jacket.com/Tweed%20Caps%20and%20Hats/Tweed%20Caps%20and%20Hats.html I chose a heavyweight tweed [22oz] with teflon, to make it as rainproof as possible. http://www.tweed-jacket.co...

Re: Favourite cloth for odd trousers

I have had to have my trousers mentioned earlier in this thread altered, and the alterations tailor left the cloth removed in the back pocket... can any of the more technically minded forum members say why the central line of the stitching in this picture is wavy?

Re: Off-seville row tailors - Connock & Lockie, Sims, C Anto

you could have the jacket made by Antoniou [£600 CMT], and the trousers by C&L [£350 CMT]!

Antoniou's trousers are good value at £135 CMT, but C&L are a clear step up
