Grenson's

Any opinions, gentlemen?

I am particularly favouring the Kent style in burnt pine.

Wedding dress

I am shortly to be married and need some advice. Due to financial constraints (my bride-to-be likes the finer table decorations in life) I cannot afford a fully bespoke suit by the tailors I would like. I am seeking a softer style of tailoring (perhaps similar to the work of Thomas Mahon) or somethi...

3. Single malt whiskies aren't necessarily better than blended or vatted whiskies. Johnnie Walker Black Label, a blended Scotch, could destroy a significant number of single-malt Scotches. Black Bottle, another blended Scotch, is one of the finest whiskies that you'll find anywhere. Indeed. For tho...

Well I suppose you could offer style advice to a young man with dark blond; slightly curly (wavy perhaps) hair, a long face (head shape not demeanour) and a distain for spending too long styling my mop every morning. Perhaps links to pictures would be useful.

Regards

David.

Sicily

Good day gentlemen. I am currently planning a trip this summer to Sicily with my other half and wondered if any of well travelled souls could pass on useful information. We are provisionally spending a week in Gole Alcantara (just west of Taormina) and then a further week in Cefalu. I am, however, o...

Carlo, my good man, perhaps I can be of assistance. Despite having the taste for such things I can rarely afford a professional manicure. Therefore one must take to the task personally. Cleanliness is the first step. Wash your hands thoroughly in warm (not hot or cold) water with either soap or liqu...

The Cow in Westbourne Grove is excellent for seafood and its Guiness is superb. Order the 'Cow Special' for a pint and 6 oysters. Pints of prawns at good prices and an upstairs restaurant away from the bar for a more upmarket but less enticing environment.

Gordon's Wine Bar in Villiers St, just behind Embankment tube, is a wonderful place. It's down in a basement with steep stairs. It's very oldy-worldy with yellowing newspaper cuttigns on the walls and dripping candle wax. Dim lighting and dark nooks make for a very intriguing place. The drink is lim...

An Indian worth a visit is the Cinnammon Club. Excellent and very calming in atmosphere.

Connelly on Conduit St does a rather fetching pair of driving gloves with the Agincourt fingers picked out in contrast red to the base black leather. Very useful when manners depart and a fellow driver needs to be shown the error of his ways.
