Thanks for your help. I'll give Budd a call and see what they can do for me.

Collar Stays

Fellow members,

Where might I be able to acquire 55mm mother of pearl collar stays? I am having terrible trouble sourcing stays less than 60mm.

Kind regards

Have you spoken to Beno Dorn, a local tailor? See http://www.freeindex.co.uk/profile(beno-dorn-the-tailors)_67970.htm. One of their tailoresses, Kate, is a member here. She quoted me a starting price of £600 for a bespoke suit. The other option is Steve Walley tailoring. He was the factory shop man...

Going "bespoke" is never going to be cheap, and whilst one would expect a shirt to cost less than a suit , you have need to consider that most shirtmaker's specifiy a minimum order quantity (at least to start). I would also take your location into account. Like suits, shirts can take several fitting...

Does anyone have experience with Sean O'flynn? Does he also travel? Dear Tim, I do, first directly when he worked at New & Lingwood, some 15 (?) years ago, since then via N & L. I still wear my shirts from that time. I think he travels. You might check his website for details: http://www.seanoflynn...

I was very interested to see this clip; especially as Sean O'Flynn, my shirtmaker, has recently moved into this very location.

Good spot.

Small Hole

Gentlemen, I seek advice. Some weeks ago I took receipt of a new shirt from a well known London shirtmaker. I have been wearing the garment on and off since, but only recently noticed a small hole, no larger than a pinhole in size , in and around the chest area. To me it looks like a fault in the fa...

Tom,

Approximately £1,100 for the two-piece referred to in the thread. The cloth was from Scabel's Triple 'A' bunch and has an element of cashmere running through it i.e. a relatively expensive cloth, making Chris's prices even more competitive.

Forgot to mention that I posted a few pics of Chris's work in another thread - http://thelondonlounge.net/gl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7379&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 Excuse the picture quality. I plan on explaining modern camera techniques to the wife when she finally gives up her Box Brownie. R...

I also use Chris and have been very pleased with the results so far. I'm relatively young (34) and have similar demands to yourself Tom. I like a clean looking waisted silouette, again single breasted with modern touches on traditional tailoring. You'll find Chris very competitively priced given tha...

Tom,

There are many, but to narrow it down, do you have a particular style in mind?

Hello Chris and welcome to the London Lounge. I'm relatively new to the forum myself, but have found it to be a most insightful and pleasant site to visit. Many of the members have far greater experience than I, but that is why I am here... to learn. I'm sure the forum will provide plenty of informa...

I can only reiterate the previous comments about Sean. I've only recently commissioned a number of shirts from him, but if the quality and workmanship of my first shirt are anything to go by he will be difficult to beat.

Personally I use Sean O'Flynn, but he only provides a fully bespoke service. You could try Richard at Harvie and Hudson. They offer what they call stock specials, a kind of half-way house to bespoke, whereby they take a standard off-the-shelf shirt and alter it to your individual needs. I can't reca...
