Yes certainly. I'll get more pictures up early next week. Waistcoat, Interior jacket (I think i remember it having a "poacher's" pocket) and close up details of the buttonholes will be sure to be featured.

Re: Edmund de Rothschild's suit

That's the one. I was told by the person that sold me the suit - must have been in March or April last year - that it had come out of the sale of his estate. I can't imagine there are too many people called "Edmund de Rothschild" going about  He seems quite tall, and possibly portly, in that p...

Edmund de Rothschild's suit

I recently picked up a suit made in the 1960s for Edmund de Rothschild, the late chairman of the N.M. Rothschild bank. It's a 3 piece with plus fours (or knickerbockers, whatever you want to call them). If there's any interest i can post pictures of the suit here for discussion.

I'm a little late to the party on this one. What a horrific story. Surely since Samuelsohn was incapable of judging how close a match the fabric was, they should now replace the whole shebang? Incidentally, i've never known a reweave by a reputable company to be conspicuous. The whole point is that ...

Thanks for posting the picture, JamesT1.

Re: the fabric. A little loud for my taste for suit, but all power to you if you can pull it off. I seem to recall a picture of the Duke in something similar. Maybe in one of Flusser's books? perhaps his had more of a flecked check?

Re: Raglan sleeves on a double breasted overcoat?

Picture can be seen on this thread at Style Forum: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=37759 That image is only available to SF members. As a non-member i cannot see it. Any chance you could post it here? I have no problem in general with raglan sleeves on overcoats, but i think i've only ev...

I was under the impression that Disraeli was mocked quite thoroughly in Parliament for his "dandy" dress and affected mannerisms. This shaming led to his adoption of the sober dress of his fellow MPs. Certainly that is how it was portrayed in the TV movie of his life featuring the immortal ()...

As a man from the countryside, i must say that heavyweight tweeds are an essential for comfortable living in the winter (think rambling, hiking, fishing, shooting etc.). The demise of suits made from truly heavyweight fabrics is something we should seek to redress. But they do still exist. There are...

I've heard some good things about Leon Tailoring Co. in Indianapolis for custom tailoring. They have a website so should be relatively easy to locate. They appear to be quite reasonable on price (I was quoted approx $900-$1000 for a three piece winter weight suit).
