Thank you for the great comments!

Thanks, exigent. The problem with buying vintage fedoras without trying them on (via eBay) is that you never know precisely what you'll get with sizing. That gray fedora has shrunken considerably. That fedora is closer to a 6 3/4 than a 6 7/8, as labeled. It also doesn't help that my head has grown ...

Yes, there is one that I've been recommended to but have yet to visit. There's an old shirtmaker/tailor in the Sheraton Hotel in Taipei. I hear he makes a nice product and his prices aren't bad. It's a little bit out of my way, so I haven't paid him a visit yet.

Thanks, Mr. Hayes. I've actually found that I'm growing into this suit alright, and I actually need to get some of my other suits altered a little larger.
Yes, the hat does help with the ladies somewhat...

Was it a raglan sleeve/shoulder construction? This is popular on many modern trenchcoats as I believe it fits a larger range of shoulder widths.

I use Nautica white cotton hankies in my left breast pocket. This is used for wiping sweat. Should I need to blow my nose, I find some TP or a tissue box.

Importance of Armholes

Pardon me, Matt Deckard, for stealing these from the Fedora Lounge. On this forum, I have found that some people focus on details that aren't exactly essential for the daily wear-ability of a garment. Things like where to place a buttoniere loop on the back of a lapel, the drape of fabrics differing...

I'll be in New York over the summer. I see that his style is one between World Wars.
I wonder if he can do as period authentic work as Mr. Okisaka from 30's Style.

I think a removable lining would affect the drape too much. You'd be better off getting skeleton lining or 3/4 lining. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/WrongEra/Vintage/DSC00957.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/WrongEra/Vintage/DSC00959.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/WrongEr...

If I only had one hat, I would like a certain color that Steve Delk (of Indiana Jones' Adventurebilt fame) has obtained. It isn't brown nor gray. It's a sort of taupe middle color that goes with gray clothes as well as brown clothes depending on the color the ribbon. If they still made Cavanagh edge...

The fabrics have adapted to our lifestyles. With the omnipresence of air conditioning and central heating, there is rarely a need for the heavy worsteds and tweeds, despite how much better it looks on us. The need for business attire and fall from the pedestal for suits in general really limits the ...

Yes, gray does indeed carry over in terms of variety and elegance, but somethinga bout a dark, dark, almost black navy worsted or a royal blue flannel grounds a solid wardrobe.
Afterall, what color can be made into something as formal as a tuxedo (mightnight blue) and as casual as a blazer?

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/WrongEra/Vintage/DSC00921.jpg I picked this up from Benneton during their post-Christmas sale. I especially like the color and the peak lapels. Benneton has done a number of single breasted suit jackets in peak lapels, as well. The old-school looks are coming b...

Well, I finally found some time to take some legitimate pictures of this lovely suit. They were taken with indoor lighting, so pardon the grain. My 2.0 megapixel camera tends to take better closeups than wide shots in bad lighting, so bear with me. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/WrongEra/Vint...

How does one go about starting their own album on the photojournal? I clicked the "add photos" button, but it simply posts them as free-standing pictures. I would find it rather a nuisance if there were 10 floating photos of the same person. I'm anal retentive like that.
