I would argue against the point that the old style safety razor is a lesser shaving experience. I used a Gillette Sensor/Mach 3 for years and now you couldn't give me one of the things. I use an adjustable Merkur (and a Gillette HD for travel) and get closer shaves that last far longer (I shaved bef...

QED normally stocks it. I just checked and they are out of stock for the time being. Try knoxcigar as they have carried it in the past and might still.

Happy Christmas and best wishes as we venture into a New Year. I hope to learn even more next year than I have this year from the very knowledgeable gents here.

Pardon the very late entry into this topic, but for the gentleman who was interested in "rules" for cigars: You might be inclined to find a copy of Dunhill's The Gentle Art of Smoking or Davidoff's The Connoisseur's Book of the Cigar. There is a wealth of information in both. I can tell you that fin...

Semi-avid pipe smoker here. I rotate on a seasonal basis - cigars in Spring and Summer, pipes in Autumn and Winter. I've been enjoying pipes and cigars for several years now and have frequently used a Zippo to light them. I've allowed it to burn for a few seconds to burn off that lovely petrol aroma and gotten very clean lights. The quality is there and they are very reliable, even in stiff winds and the warranty...

On the topic of blade consistency I've noticed the same thing about Merkur blades. The blades I've switched to and use exclusively now are the Feather Platinum - I've gone thorough numerous packages and have yet to have a dud.

I'm new to the forum but I'd very much like to weigh in on this topic. I've dealt with Taylor's for many years and was fortunate enough to visit their shop this spring. An extremely close second would be the Curzon St. location of Trumpers. The history of the facility makes it worthy of a visit. Thi...
