Re: Grey flannel suits
I do share the opinion of David regarding rational criteria but I have to confess that all my grey flannel suits are in fact DB….somehow the cloth decides.

Dear Etutee, I can only underline what Guille has written. According to my opinion, your contributions make out an essential part of the LL. They are extremely informative, elegantly written with appropriate illustrations and a constant source of inspirations. I have learnt a lot, particularly regar...

Aristide is correct: a cocktail at the Hilton hotel bar balcony at sunset is a must! For shopping you might find nice things at "Karouzos" in their flagship store in Kolonaki at Kanari str. It is the only shop selling also Marinella ties (but in small numbers). Interesting shop is also "Giannetos" a...

artisanal pipe makers
Although being conservative having several english pipes I am particularly fond of the danish artisans. I am happy to have some exemplars of the late Sixten Ivarsson as well as some of Peter Hedegaard, Anne Julie and of the Germans Ingo Garbe and Joura. I fully agree with Michael regarding Castello´...

favorite tobaccos
My favorites are Dunhill´s Aperitif, Gawith´s Grousemoor, GLPease Odyssey and sometimes Davidoff´s Royalty (although not as good as in the times when it was manufactured in UK). I was particularly fond of the Balkan Sobranie mixtures but they are not available any more...

Klemann shoes
Dear friends, I tried to upload in the photojournal some examples of the shoes made for me by Mr. Klemann over the period of the last 10 years. The album is still untitled, perhaps I will manage to give it a title. I will try to add further pictures in the following days (unfortunately the uploading...

MacIntosh
I can only underline the comments of bengal-stripe regarding the MacIntoshes. I bought one (a riding Mac) several years ago from Cordings and used it solely for riding (although it looked a little funny as I ride in the Western style). It is really waterproof but extremely hot in rainy summer days. ...

Buttonholes in DB
I am a bit confused with this topic! I always thought that a DB should have one buttonhole on each lapel- I have always to remind my tailor to put both of them. Now in Jean Gabin´s pictures from the "Parisian style" topic I can only see one buttonhole in his DB suits (at least those with light colou...
